Default What is the best antibiotic for rosacea (p&p's):

with the least side effects?

Was prescribed Tetrycycline but am scared of yeast infection (which i have JUST gotten under control with acidophilus) & grey teeth.

Is docy or something else better?

I seem to get nearly every side effect from drugs! Blah! Don't know why! I currently take 100mg of Doxycycline a day and yeast infection is a real problem for me. Doxy is great for my Rosacea but have all the other negative side effects to deal with!

What does "grey teeth" mean? Your teeth get grey???

Asa805 , how old are you ? The doxy only can give decoloration of the teeth when you are younger than 9 year . So young kids and pregnant women should not take it. Pregnant women not because the baby's teeth can get a grey brown disoloration that is permanent !

Mino is supposedly a more powerful form of tetra based products. Mino, Doxy are both tetra derivatives. Mino apparently has less side effects overall given its strength, but has an interesting new side effect relative to the others - turns people blue. This smurf potential happens rarely and can be monitored by watching your finger nails and gums apparently. Any good derm can catch this before it gets out of control.

Best,
Trey
