Update- miracle of supplements
Dear All,
I have been using supplements( regularly) for the last one month and so many things changed. Since the first week I started using them, I havent flushed/blushed. This is very weird.
Cold, heat, food, stress used to make me flush. Now even when I come home (20 Celcius) from outside (-15 celcius). It doesnt make me flush. I wake up without a warmth feeling on my face. My ocular rosacea doesnt bother me at all. Vision is ok, no burning...
I am taking 2000mg fish oil (1000*2), 1300mg borage oil (300mg) GLA, 200mg GSE (100*2) , 1000mg ESTER C, 200mg ALA (100*2).
I think I broke the inflammation cycle. I feel so good. I go out and talk to people which would make blush incredibly. But now its ok.
Still redness or texture hasnt improved at all. Eye lids are still red.
Although I am concerned with the side effects of GLA(we already get too much omega 6 in our diets) and GSE(promoting hair growth), I will continue using them.
Take care

Thats great! I remember speaking to you a few months ago and you sounded really down. Im so glad you have managed to have some success.
Tell you what I take... well, did take, I need to re stock!
- Cod liver oil
- Ester C
- Rutin
I wouldnt say if it helped my symptoms directly, but Im sure it good in the long terms as a preventative.

Francois, I wouldn't worry too much about the GLA tipping your omega-6: omega-3 ratio balance. GLA is one of the 'good guys' at the dosage your are taking (300g). As long as you aren't eating loads of vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and other omega-6 concentrated foods then your ratio should be fine since you are also supplementing with omega-3.

Hi Francois
I thought I would re-hash what I just posted in your previous thread on supplements in regards to GLA. I made a mistake in the other thread (and just corrected it).
There is “good Omega-6” and “bad Omega-6”. That being, Omega-6 is divided into two categories - Linoleic Acid (LA), found in vegetable oils such as corn, sunflower seed, safflower, soy, sesame, and cottonseed oils (the ones to avoid) and Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), found in plant seed oils of evening primrose, black currant, borage, and fungal oils (the good ones).
As Bradley has pointed out, GLA's are the good guys. Again, sorry for my mistake in the other thread.
So, I would think that you don’t need to worry about the GLA component in your supplement cocktail.
Great to see things are going so well for you with these supplements.

Supplements
Hi
Are you following the Dr. Perricone Anti-Inflammatory diet? The supplements you mentioned are all reccomended in his book to curb the body's inflammation. I recently started following his diet and have been adding the supplements one at at time to be sure none has any undesireable side effects. If anyone is interested, Dr. Perricone is a dermatologist turned author and nutrition guru. He really seems to know what he is talking about, especially when it comes to the body's inflammation cycle and how to break it through nutrition and supplements.
Has anyone found about the wonderful health benefits of Acai Berries?
I will continue to post here on my progress, it's only been a couple months so far. Roxanne

I think antioxidants are a good choice to help us fight inflamation. I've heard about aronia berries which have more antioxidants than blueberries, cranberries or pomegranates. Trader Joe's has 100% organic arnoia berry juice for $3.99 per 32 oz. It's cheap and convenient so I bought some. It is very tart like cranberry juice. I just bought it yesterday so the jury is still out on the effects. It doesn't make me flush like some drinks/foods so that's a bonus.
