Default Doxycycline photosensitivity -- need sunscreen on face onlty?

Hi there. Yesterday I started out on Doxycycline. I am on holiday in a very sunny place. Do I need to cover all exposed skin with sunscreen (I'm using factor 50), or just my face (which is the only place I have rosacea symptoms)? My dermatologist says only my face, but I'd like a second opinion.

I'd be grateful for any help

I respectfully disagree with that assessment. I think you need to apply sunblock to any exposed areas while outside.

I take 40 mg doxy (Oracea) and developed a sun reaction on my arms last year and that was with sunblock. I just didn't reapply enough and I was outside most of the day.

Enjoy your vacation!

Best wishes,
Melissa
