Default Laser and Minocycline

Do anyone know if it's ok to take minocycline while doing laser?
I take the minocycline for the burning/stinging I get on my face, neck and ears. Now i've stared Laser(3 Sessions so far but wondered if I should continue the Mino? Laser is helping a little so far
By the way -This forum is fantastic-it has helped me understand what the hell is going on with me and many like me,I don't post much but I read alot of this stuff-
THANKS.
Eric

Hi Eric,
I was taking mino (45 mg) all throughout my first five VBeams and I had no problem. You should be fine.
Good luck with your upcoming treatments!

Best wishes,
Melissa

Probably because doxy can make you sensitive to sun and light.

I think it only makes you more sensitive to sunlight

This antibiotic will make your skin sensitive to the sun so that it will sunburn more easily, you will need to use sun protection.

My derm says it is perfectly fine to have laser while on antibiotics.
And I definitely don't think Eric needs to be concerned as he is on mino and that is not as photosensitizing in any case. Also, as I stated previously I had 5 VBeams while on mino with no deleterious effects as well as RLT.

EK1, your derm seems to be quite the opinionated expert on things doesn't he. First pyratine and now this LOL. I like a man with strong opinions... I just prefer when they are accurate.

I just want to add that you should follow your doctor's instructions of course if you are being treated by him. So if he says it's OK to continue doxy through laser then that's fine. If he asks you to d/c it you should.

Dr. Crouch states that he has never seen a problem with patients who are on doxy during laser but if your doc advises against it of course follow his advice.

Just wanted to make that clear.
