My Rosacea has disappeared since I tried Melanotan II
Hi Everyone,
I am a 100% IRISH type 1 skin type with a "rogue" pinkish, transluscent white complexion with blue eys, who also got the misfortune of getting rosacea as well.
Since college I have had rosacea, fortunately(and maybe a bit strange) only around my nose area, as well as occasional ocular rosacea.
I took metrogel & doxy( both with no change), and light pulse lasers.
The light pulse lasers were painful, but did help some, except my redness on my nose never completely lost its red, and rosacea returned completely within 3-4 months. I have been frustrated for years, and it has ruined my self confidence that I had as a kid and teenager
I have been reading on this board for years, and always new I was pretty cursed with my skin tone. I began using sunless tanners about 6 years ago, and they helped to make my rosacea not stand out so bad, and I actually got a girlfriend in school after I began using it. I used it religiously to help even out my skin tone, but I hated it. In my case a "suntan" look seemed to help blend my rosacea away.
What I did this month is I bought some Melanotan II , and I have been taking it intravenously for 6 weeks. It has evened out my skin complexion under my shorts and shirt where I get no sun exposure, and I have developed a pretty nice tan on my arms and face (less on my legs). What I have experienced is nothing short of incredible for me. I have actually developed a really nice tan, and have not sunburned when I've been in the sun!!!!! Best of all, my rosacea has completely disappeared, and my face is now naturally tan! I have become tan for the first time in my life, and it doesn't wash off or smell like sunless tans, and girls are smiling at me because I do actually look handsome for the first time in my life.
My life has changed, as I finally feel good holding my head up high, and looking people in the eyes with a smile. I wanted to share my experience with anyone who has a similiar problem as me, and let you know there is hope. I hope this helps.

Run a google search for it and you'll find the forum. There is info on there about how to buy it.
At the minute, it has to be taken IV although when it is licensed, it is anticipated that it will be available as implants placed under the skin.
I have been waiting for this to become available from doctors for years now. The date just seems to get pushed further and further into the future. I'm not brave enough to buy it from an unknown supplier and inject myself! :?

I just read a few articles on it, very interesting, they call it a miracle drug. It's an anti-inflammatory, it tans you and it is a powerful libido stimuator, better than Viagra and it doesn't raise your blood-pressure like Viagra either. You have to inject it under the skin, but they're coming out with eyedrops and a nasal spray to administer it too..

Yes, unfortunately I had to take it by IV, and I was very nervous about it because its not FDA approved yet etc. So I found a guy who sent me some made from a lab in California. They sell it from China too, but I didn't trust injecting anything Chinese in me. The results I have gotten have been incredible but it wasn't cheap ($240), and if you are squimish about needles like I was, it takes getting use to.
I weigh 165 lbs, and I took it everyday for about 12 -14 days before I noticed any change. You have side effects like I got sligtly naseous feeling the first day (it went away soon), and I had spontaneous erections everyday I did it. I also lost a little weight. After about two weeks I noticed a few of my freckles getting a little darker, and then after 21-24 days I got some serious sun from being out on a boat, and voila I came home and instead of being red I was turning tan!! Since then ,I have just been telling people (who comment on my tan) I forgot to wear sunscreen, but the positive comments have been pretty nice, and I've never had so much confidence since I was a kid.
The first 3 weeks(about 24 days) was the loading phase, and now I've only taken it 2 times in the last three weeks since. It has seemed to stay in my body, as I haven't lost my tan or gotten my red nose back.
I have always felt a little cheated out in life because of my skin color, and how I just didin't look good in many colors. (and I use to wear mostly black because the sunless tanners and foundation I had to wear aren't as noticable on black).
If I could have found about this many years ago, I think my life would have been much different, but I just have to smile and be thankful for everyday ahead of me. It has changed my life!!
I have some before and after pics of me, but I don't think I want to share them with the world. Email me and I can get them off my computer to send you if you want.

Very interesting indeed! I understand if you don't want to post the photos, but if you change your mind, we would love to see them! I think there are a lot of people who could benefit from knowing your story and pictures.

How many years off is FDA approval do you think? Does anyone know a rough estimate? Sounds very promising.

Hello,
I THINK I have read where studies have shown that melanin is an angiogenesis blocker. If so, perphaps this is one of the reason(s) that the incidence of rosacea is much less in those with darker skin.
Good area for research....Hmmm.
