what is going on? Describe it out?

Have you tried deep breathing? Sitting calm.... breathing deep?

it's just like the heat's been turned on high under my skin. My cheeks, nose and ears are affected. I've been laying down with a wet towel over my face but it doesn't help.

Tarky,
Try a cool milk compress with whole milk. That helped me a few years ago when I was going through a multiple day flush. Also, try eating some ice cream for at least 10 minutes. It helps cool the body and may help cool your face. Try it- it might help!
Sending cool vibes your way

Best wishes,
Melissa

I also tried this some time ago with good results. I just poured cold milk in a bowl and soaked a washcloth in it. You have to wring the cloth out so that it doesn't drip but don't overdo it. Apply to face and, when the fabric feels warm, flip it over. When it feels dry, soak again and reapply. It might take a few 10 - 15 minute sessions.

I am so so sorry you are going through this. I had this happen last spring and mine lasted 3-4 days. Just feels like yor face is on fire and will never let up. I found the cold compresses to not be enough. I also couln't sleep because the pain was so intense. Which of course not getting any sleep makes it worse On the third day I went to my doctor and he prescriped me eryothmcyine (pretty sure this is 100% not spelled correctly) and some pain killers. I also started putting aloe vera gel on my face. I finally got to sleep that 3rd night. This might work for you. I think the milk compress idea sounds really nice and soothing actually.

I am wishing you soothing, cooling healing vibes!

Hi Tarky,
Auburn described the cool milk compress technique perfectly Thanks Auburn!
How are you doing now?

I had a few members tell me that the ice cream method helped them also so if you are still experiencing burning you might want to try that too. You have to eat it for a while though so not just for a few minutes so go slowly. The coldness of the ice cream seems to reset my body temp and cool off my burning face. It is definitely worth a try if your face is still burning.

Also, just wanted to mention that the aloe vera gel that Jenna B recommended is a great idea! There are many people here who love aloe vera and its healing and soothing properties. Definitely worth a try as well. It is very cooling and soothing!
