Default Behind the ears..

Hey all..
Bit of an odd one.. I have papulopustular rosacea - currently affecting both cheeks. When I do experience flushes, the flush furiously blossoms out from my face, round to my neck.. behind my ears (I wear my hair up a lot, so these areas are visible to others) & then less so as it moves down my upper body. If I'm outside or by a window, it doesn't feel quite so extreme. But.. If I'm indoors & the central heating is on.. it lasts forever.. the whole room stops to comment on how red I am - always helpful!
So anyway.. I was wondering, does anyone ever get p&p's behind their ears? It feels like I might start to.. & I guess that would be consistent with the gradual development of rosacea on my cheeks, especially as it is an area I can feel burning when I blush. Does anyone else experience this?
I've started lightly applying Metronidazole to the area behind my ears as I do my cheeks in the hope I may be able to treat the rosacea before it develops into the severe & lasting redness I have on my cheeks.
Let me know if you get this too!! x

Hey jennywren-

I can totally sympathize. Behind my ears and extending down the sides of my neck is definitely an area of p&p. They are really small and hard to see, but the area is red and a tad ruddy. For me, metro didn't help, nor did evoclin, clindamycin, or finacea.

What I have had great success with lately is a sodium sulfacetamide/sulphur cleanser and as well as a cream. P&p population has gone way down. My skin actually looks pretty good in exactly one week of use.

I have a Sciton appt next week, which hopefully will remove redness and flushing in that area, which many believe cause the p&p in the first place.

hope this helps!
