Prosacea opinions
I have been using Prosacea on and off for over a year with great results. I must admit the effects vary. Sometimes applying the gel topically can clear up a break out immediaely. Othertimes, it just keeps it from getting worse. I have never had a negative response. I particularly like to use it after cleansing my face at night and apply, wait for it to dry before going to bed. I have also used it before applying makeup. However, i have found that I must apply a very light coat or it will peel. It is in an aloe vera gel base and dries like it. It tends to be slightly drying, but does not burn or redden the skin. Following application of a few days, after it clears, I then discontinue and use a cold cream to re-moisturize.

I stumbled across this at CVS last week and thought I'd give it a try. I have been getting sciton BBL/IPL laser treatments for about a year (which have reduced my redness about 50%) but this was only $10 so I thought, what the heck. I'm definitely getting positive results. mainly on my nose where I have mild p&p/bumpiness (little redness) and a subtle reduction on my cheeks where I have moderate-to-severe redness (smooth, no p&p nor bumpiness).
It appears to have opened up some of my pores, which is probably why it's been working better on the p&p bumpy area of my nose. It is a little drying but this has not been a problem so far - I have been making some effort to stay moisturized. Overall, after I put it on my condition has a "good day." the results are definitely interesting and for only $10 I would recommend trying it.
I took a photo of my redness a few days ago so I will be able to compare if I experience any miraculous results, but it's too soon to say how much this will do in the long run. I intend to continue using this (as well as my laser treatments since I know those work for me) and will post again in a few weeks if I continue getting results.

prosacea treatment
I have been using Prosacea for a year and have had great results I don't use it every day and in a years time I'm only on my second tube.I like to put it on at night before bed it does have a slight sulfur odor.I have been meaning to come back to this forum and write a post as this is where I read of people using it.I had been to the doctor three times for this and nothing they gave me worked as well as this has.

Prosacea not for me!
My prescription for Finacea ran out, and I thought this looked worth a try.
I have been using for about 10 days on and around nose area and have had a TOTAL flareup; takes me back 3 years when I was first diagnosed by the dermatolgist.
I accept that it is drying, as was Finacea, but to regress this far is unacceptable.
Would love to find another non prescription option.

Since I posted here a while back I thought this deserved a follow up.
My conclusion as of now is that I find prosacea helpful for the greasy/bumpy skin on my nose, but NOT helpful for the smooth consistent redness on my cheeks.

just ordered some
I just ordered some Prosacea, after reading good things on other sites.
I have a sneaking suspicion that lots of the one posters on this and other forums are really spies from the company. All of their comments seem to read the same, as if they are all the same person. I will give it a shot, and post my results. I've had rosacea for 10 years I'd say, and am on the antibiotic now which definitely keeps it under control (much better than before!)
but I want to get off it, as it gives me indigestion. I take it about 3 - 4 times a week.
The one thing that annoys me besides the redness is the dry skin that i have. I hope the Prosacea gets rid of that.
I use moisturizer and some type of cover up everyday, but a face is what people look at... so yes it is annoying when flare ups happen. I would post a before and after but I don't want people to look at me! lol

well I've been using it since tuesday, so about 4 days now. I haven't seen any improvement in my skin yet. It does smell like a firecracker exploded in my face.
I'm offsetting that smell with this moisturizer that has aloe and green tea in it.
I'm not sure how long it should take to see anything. First of all I noticed some extra little blotches on my face the day after I took it, I hope they go away. Other than that my skin didn't have any reaction, but it doesn't seem to be helping, at least yet.
