    Default Eyelid IPL/Laser Successes/Failures

    Hi everyone-

I was wondering if folks who had IPL/Laser txs to their eye areas would be ever so kind to share their stories good or bad. I think this is a less talked about subject but many have pronounced issues w/ocular rosacea that need therapy.

Particularly those who had treatments they feel assisted their eye problems, it would be great if you might let us know of settings, experience et al.

This prospect can be especially scary but if we could establish some guidelines it may help take off some of the anxiety for ppl.

Some common questions aside from what I mentioned include:

    -will it burn your eyelashes/eyebrows
-did you have it done by someone experienced or just had your general laser doctor perform it?
-how much did it improve your eye symptoms?
-were your eyes overtly irrtiated by the metal shields, anesthetic/lubricating drops etc.

    Thanks ever so much-
    ~banshee

Yeah, I would be interested in any lead going into the laser treatment of the eyelid or eye-area
    Best regards

I think ppl are so scared to mess with their eyes....I know I am. But I know if I don't the skin will get as bad as my face.

My eyelids are very swollen and purple. Would regular IPL to the face help with this in anyway?

I had a plastic surgeon/laser doc who did put metal shields under my eyes so he could treat my eyelids.

For unrelated reasons (my general falling apart with rosacea) I think he got very concerned/unwilling to use the eyeshields anymore. I don't fault him for this--I think he was genuinely concerned about doing anything that might make worse (especially as under-eyelid shields are a bit rare). I'm guessing my GP in my hometown had something to do with that, too, but, that's a long, long story.

If you can find a doc who will use under-eyelid shields, go for it. So long as you trust that doctor and you're not a guinea pig.

As most of you know, I assume, red light therapy has been a great cover-all inflammation/flushing/redness/suppression tool. I don't have giant deformed veins on my eyelids, so, red light therapy can address/suppress the flushing there.

If you've got permanently dilated vessels on your eyelids--you'll need to find a VERY good specialist, or at least someone that understands light energy and vascular treatment in that area.

Please be careful, consult (that should be free, on general principles) your prospective docs, and don't hesitate to walk out if you feel uncomfortable.

Toleraine Soothing Light Facial Fluid for moisturizer. I don't use a special cleanser. Clonidine daily; klonopin sometimes.
BEST and CURRENT TREATMENT I use: Low-Level Red Light Therapy LED array.
Please feel free to PM me with your low-level red light therapy (LLRLT) questions. I'm happy to help if I can.

David, did you ever have veins on your eyelids and the red light therapy treated them, or has red light therapy just prevented them from forming? Also, do you use goggles when you do your red light treatments?

    Thanks for any info.

My 3rd IPL which was pretty damn strong went to close to my thin skin under my eyeballs and caused a vein to appear uneder my right eye. Very unsightly huge vein that IPL cant treat!
