forgot to also say my father has seb derm he gets it on his chest scalp ( even though he has no hair!) and in his ears. Mine has also been behind my ears at times.

You should have posted this in the same thread! The more you explain it sounds like you have SD rather than rosacea. SD looks so much like rosacea that a cursury diagnosis of rosacea was the problem. But I am only guessing, because a patient can have SD and rosacea at the same time. I sugggest you go to this url >

sorry I am new to this and didn't know how to post in same thread. Thanks for your thoughts - yes the antibiotics helped with the raised patches and tiny pinprick spots all within a matter of days. The redness however is there in varying amounts. I obviously look for it and think it is obvious others who look at me say your skin looks normal to me. The thing I was wondering was - if it is seb derm and irritated won't anything that would make you hotter more irritated just compound the already irritated skin therefore making it redder ie. heat etc? Are the tiny pinprick spots commonly found with seb derm or is this rosacea - my dad said he sometimes got these but they always improved in the summer and as he has got older doesn't get them.
