    Default The Helen Sher System

Has anyone heard of or tried her system. She's a Canadian lady based in the UK who claims she gets great results with acne and rosacea patients. I think the system is called Sher System. The whole programme is based around the cleansing regime/system and the supplements. The system also incorporates the use of colloidal silver solution (to wipe the skin over with)
Let me know if you know.

Hi Trish. I visited Helen back in May 2005 after 15 years suffering with acne and rosacea. I could write many pages about my experiences and opinion, however the bottom line is that my skin has improved beyond all expectations.

The system/program comprises many elements such as:-

    - dietary changes (e.g. avoid dairy food, spicy food, alcohol in moderation)
    - a comprehensive skincare regime that involves splashing water at a very particular temperature on your skin twice a day
    - minimising exposure of skin to extremes of temperature
    - wearing make-up! It protects the skin against pollution, sunlight etc
    - drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day
    - increasing your intake of Omega 3,6,9 EFA's
    - taking Helen's 'Skin Support Formula' capsules that contain a probiotic and just about every mineral, vitamin and herb known to man!! They've got to be good for your overall wellbeing

Feel free to ask me more specific questions, I'd be pleased to respond. In fairness, it was the acne that was the primary reason for seeing Helen and the results have been incredible.

I'd read about this system before too, just curious - What temp. water and how many spashes?? - and do you use the colloidal silver? - I'm happy that you've seen such an improvement using it.

    Default The Sher System

Yes, I apply colloidal silver to my face a cotton wool ball before washing with the Sher System face wash. The water should be 94 Farenheit, and when you've washed your face with the face wash, you rinse your hands in the basin of water* and then splash 20 times (minimum). The face wash is very gentle, my skin doesn't feel at all taut afterwards.

    * Helen explained that tap water is full of chemicals and impurities that aggravate sensitive skin so the face wash contains ingredients to neutralise these impurities.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi guys,
my thread was probably a bit misleading....I had been using Sher system for about 2 years and was rather happpy with it but found it slightly drying. Then approx 6 weeks ago I called Anita (Helen's assistant) and said my skin was bumpy and slightly reddish. She suggested I go to see her derm in Wimpole Street. She confirmed I had mild rosacea and then performed a chemical peel on my skin. This has sent my skin into a downward spiral and deeper into the rosacea prison. lots of redness. So, then I decided to go back to the Sher System but my skin is too sensitive right now. I will definitely go back to it however, it is seriously overpriced. I have found the Premium true colloidal silver much cheaper elsewhere (half the price for twice the strength).
Just to let you guys know, my skin was at its worst yesterday and at 3am I got out of bed and applied silver solution and my skin was loads better in the morning. Coincidence or not i just dont know.
Right now my derm has suggested erithhromycin to get rid of the spots and redness etc. I have to use Avene's skincare products from Boots (selected) for hypersensitive and intolerant skins.
Where do I go from here???

Oh, one more thing....Helen could never explain why you swipe your face with the silver solution and then immediately wash it off. What's that about? Shouldnt we leave it on for a bit longer so it can do its stuff??

    Default individual differences

I used it, but had horrible reaction that took me a few month to remove. I returned all of them, but it cost a lot as it was by international mail. And, there is suggestion that continous use of silver can turn your skin into blue/gray (by the cosmetic cop, Paula). In other words, it can be toxic. This is just my personal experience. I believe that there are people who like the products. 8)

I believe it is ingestion of liquid silver that causes this effect. In pre victorian times it would be ingested as a cure all and mostly the Royal families could afford to do this and this is where the concept of blue bloods came from.....they really did turn a bluish grey colour. I believe you would have to ingest a fair amount though. Just to confirm I am not using Sher now - skin too sensitive. Infact using Avene's Tolerance Extreme products - cleanser and cream and its working a treat. Still cannot live without my Dermalogica ultra sensitive sun block. Also I believe the erithromycin is doing its job. I am red and spot free as we speak/write.
    Cheers for now.
