    Default accutane your experience

    Hi Dr Nase.
could you please try to give me some guidance on accutane ,how long was it before you started to see the swelling go down ?
Did it rid you of your rhinomopia ?
How long can you continue to take it ?
are you still taking it ?
Sorry to bother you with all these questions but accutane is my main hope for ridding myself of this , it seems to me there is little info on rhnomopia
perhaps the most horrid of all rosacea symptoms.
Once again thanks for all your time and help i am forever in your debt
    Shaun

Not Dr Nase here but can answer some of these questions for him (since its in his book).

    - takes months for swelling to go down and depends on the person (3 months, 9 months, ...)

    - taking 10mg/day is a small enough amount where some prominent derms dont even require testing to be done. this said you should get usual lipid tests and bone scans to be sure. again depends on the person, but 1 year to 18 months is usually enough. I think Dr. Nase took 10mg/day for a year and cut the dosage in half for a short period of time thereafter (by either 10mg/2-3days per week or 5mg/day; think the former because not sure if 5mg is even available in the US)

    - Is he still taking it? not sure about this one, but he doesnt show any signs of rosacea today. he has recommended pulse dosing in the past after your first "course" to keep the symptoms under control. I don't actually know how this practice works and would be nice to learn more, especially on its acceptability with derms and testing procedures while doing such dosing.

    Best,
    Trey
