    Default isotretinoin

Is anyone here currently taking isotretinoin or had success with it? Im considering asking my doctor for some...low dose, since that was what I read in Dr. Nase's book.

Also, is there a different between isotretinoin and accutane? Thanks

no difference between iso and accutane. lots of people have taken low dose accutane. i would make sure of two things at least when visiting a derm about it: 1) get 10mg/day and 2) depending on your condition, you want to be on it for a while (12months +/-). accutane will significantly reduce your inflamation related to rosacea and can reduce any rhinophyma symtoms that are beginning (accutane will have a limited affect on fibrosis). accutane however must be taken for a good period of time in order to reverse any early stage rhinophyma.

Isotretinoin is the generic name for Accutane. from 1982-2002 Hoffman La-Roche had patients for the drug before they expired and marketed Accutane in the U.S. and Roaccutane elsewhere. Now that isotretinoin is generic there are many companies making their own versions of the drug.

I do have minor occular symtoms such as occassional red/dry eyes, does this mean that I won't be able to take isotretinoin - even at low dose?

Also, if it does exacerbate these symptoms whilst I am taking it - will this effect be permanent once I have stopped taking it?

I realise it's difficult to gauge - as everyone reacts differently.

    Thanks.
