Default Barleans Omega Twin Oil -- GLA most important for us

In clinical studies on inflammatory skin disorders and dry eye syndromes, GLA is by far the best studied active ingredient. Clincal studies demonstrate a significant anti-inflammatory action on facial skin disorders and better hydration. Love the Omega Twin Liquid.

Omega Twin / Omega Twin - Lignan, Flax/Borage Combination
Barlean's OmegaTwin is a significant advancement in essential fatty acid nutrition. This product combines our organic flaxseed oil, the world's richest source of alpha-linolenic acid, (LNA) Omega-3 with our borage oil, the world's richest source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), Omega-6. A special synergism exists between these two important fatty acids that may potentiate their effects. Both LNA and GLA are required in balancing the body's hormonal response to conditions associated with allergy, inflammation, pain and swelling.

Do a search on your local google-enginge. Most supplement-webshops have got both fish oil and GLA for sale. I know Doc Nase really likes this combined product, but really, it is not that big of a hassle to use to separate products. 8)

I've had good results from taking softgels of GLA. I also take fish oil supplements. Make sure you get a good quality GLA supplement if you do. I originally was going to try the Barlean's, but it's a bit pricey for me.

The GLA has been especially helpful for my ocular symptoms.

I take around 300mg GLA a day. 2 capsules of Health from the Sun Evening Primrose Oil 3 times a day.

Default flaxseed oil causing onset of rosacea?

I'm probably completely off course here, but could ALA actually cause the onset of rosacea?
I've bored many of you before with how my red face came on overnight, but I've only just made the connection with the fact that the only medication I was taking at the time was flaxseed oil - I'd been taking about 5 ml a day (containing about 2,500mg of ALA) for a few weeks before it all kicked off on my face!

Is this possible (given that it is supposed to be good for blood vessels not bad), or just a weird co-incidence?

    I would appreciate anyone's opinion

There seems to be two versions, Flax/Borage oil combo and Lignan, which one should you go for or is it more or less the same?

I got myself a bottle from a UK site: http://www.1stvitality.com/barleans/...lax-liquid.htm , it says both Lignan fortified and Flax/borage oil, so what exactly have I just ordered here? :-) A combo of these two? The label isn't the same as the ones in the US.

some people metabolize omega 3 into gla on their own and don't need to supplement while others need it.. read about this at www.mercola.com
too much gla converts into AAcid and causes inflammation...

I know that dr. mercola relies on energy testing for supplements...
i can only tell you this

i was doing large amounts of gla through EPO for years and i was taking too much and it caused inflammation throughout my body ... lots of water retention

    take care

What dose were you on? What form of GLA were you taking?
