    Default Vacation and improved rosacea

I just got back from vacation in Southern California. Prior to the trip I had little papules all over my forehead and some on my right cheek. There was MAJOR improvement just within a few days of being there. No more bumps on my forehead or cheek. I'm trying to figure out what I did differently but nothing comes to mind other than the fact that I was in the ocean and in the sun. Also, in Southern CA the water is very hard so you must have a water softener - I stayed with old neighbors who have one of these. The water is softened by using salt pellets (weird I know). Anyway, I'm wondering if the combo of the ocean, sun and soft water had anything to do with this vast improvement. Also, no flares while I was there... I need to move back I think! When I lived there I did not have rosacea. It came after we moved away. Thoughts?

No, totally opposite. I live in HUMID Tennessee, and So. Cal. is quite dry.

That's quite encouraging. I'm getting ready to go from humid Indiana to spend a week in Arizona. Hope I get the same results!! 8)

Humidity if far better than dry heat for me. Dont know why, but when there's moisture in the air its better.

It seems like there is no clear climate thats best for rosacea. People bring the topic up that their face improved while they were on vacation. But its gone both ways..from humid climate and felt better in dry to dry climate and felt better in humid. Im still figuring out whats better for me..seems I have better luck in the middle somewhere

I did a search on salt water on the rosacea search engine and there are some posts from people who claim salt water helps them... They buy dead sea salts and make a solution. I think I may try this.

Maybe it's because you were out living and experiencing a different place, and your skin came AFTER something else instead of before it.

I just went somewhere for a few days, my skin looked awesome. When I'm at home it's hard not to let it get to me.

Not a very scientific reason, I know. lol :)

Perhaps not very scientific, but a good point nonetheless.
