    Default Evening Primrose Oil (GLA)

I'm posting this to offer my experience with EPO/GLA supplementation. If you haven't already tried this, or tried a cheap supplement, I would offer that you try out a higher-end EPO supplement.
I used to have TERRIBLE troubles with my eyes. I was on tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, back to doxy, and am now on clarithromycin.
Obviously, as all of us know, one can't factor out a given addition to our regimen. But, since I've gotten on EPO (Health from the Sun, not a plug, just my brand. Efamol is good as well.), and let it build up in my system for a couple of months, my eyes haven't returned to that irritated, itching, aggravated, swollen state.
Given that antibiotics are supposed to affect one's eyes before any effects on the skin's symptoms are noticed, I sort of expected that, when I switched to "better" antibiotics, I might notice a difference.
I can't say all the changes I've made in antibiotics have made me notice anything; I do know that, since I started EPO supplementation (300mg GLA total, 100mg x 3 per day), my eyes are much better.
    Hope this helps.

Toleraine Soothing Light Facial Fluid for moisturizer. I don't use a special cleanser. Clonidine daily; klonopin sometimes.

I have had good results with EPO, too, though not necessarily with rosacea. (It's always hard to tell if something is working with rosacea due to the way it is always changing.) But EPO plumped up my skin with water, making wrinkles less noticeable, and hardened my fingernails almost overnight. I agree that some of the cheaper brands don't work. I used Nature's Bounty, and it didn't work. When I switched to Efamol, it worked immediately. The results don't last, though; you have to take it every day, preferably twice a day or more, or quickly lose the benefits. I think your eyes are probably better, David, because of the moisture-retaining properties of EPO taken internally.

P.S. David, what is that weird avatar of yours supposed to be? I have been trying to figure that one out--even put a magnifying glass over it, but I am stumped.

GLA is supposed to have a special effect on ocular inflammation that can be caused (or from other causes) by ocular roscaea. For one reason or another, GLA is most effective with ocular rosacea, and I suppose can help with facial rosacea. I think reducing inflammation helps to allow the meibomian glands secrete oil better so it protects the tear film layer from evaporating into the air.

And my avatar is an image a friend of mine drew. A zombie character with a ghost friend, I think. Dunno, I liked the way it turned out and the colors were pretty cool. Had to resize it, of course, for the avatar. ;)
