Yes, I do.
I think the doctor should look you over and give you conservative estimates on what he can do in 5 or 6 treatments based on his experience. If he does not meet these conservative levels than further treatments should be free or the patient should get some type of reimbursement.
Remember that no Laser Specialist has to ever deal with Insurance cutting their pay by 60%, so they are making out like bandits. For example, with any other physician, the doctor may charge $2,500, but the insurance only pays him $750 based on their calculations. Instead, Laser docs get the full $2,500 up front in cash or credit card.
Rosacea is tough to put into a nice neat tidy box, but a laser specialist should at least tell you his conservative estimate of clearance and give you a choice. Sounds very reasonable.
It really bugs me that treatments for acne, like Clearlight, are able to be covered by insurance but treatments like IPL for us are considered "cosmetic". I know it is theoretically possible to get insurance to pay, but probably only a lucky few will have success with that and a lot of these drs. will not even try to bill your insurance.
My clinic practicioner has decided to do as many treatments as it takes to get rid of my redness. I paid $2250 for 5 treatments - so far I have been to the clinic 6 times, and have at least 2 more visits. This person is as diligent as they come!
