well informed when I question the derm.
An RN performs the actual treatment and as far as I know she uses the pre-set settings except for cranking up the joules.
On the Lumenis Vasculight devise, there are 2 heads. She calls one the SR ( she says that this is for skin redness ). She uses this head first with a 560 filter, double pulse.
The she switches to another head which she calls VL ( vascular lesions ). She changes the filter to 550 and uses a triple pulse.
She says that I have very few broken vessels but I have the diffuse redness. I want to talk to the derm to convince him to change something since I feel that the last 2 treatments have done little. Cranking up the energy does not seem to be working any more.
I am wondering about this double pass. I have 2 separate treatments as explained above. Is this what is meant by a double pass? She says that sdhe cannot go over my face again with the SR head. Can she? but use another filter, like the 590 or the 640.
I have seen improvement but I feel that at this point I need a more individualized approach.
Whatever you can tell me will be greatly appreciated. I am scheduled next week and want to be fully prepared even if I have to sign a waiver to change the settings from the pre-selected ones.
Thanks
Linda
