    Default Removing dead peeling skin?

Every time I was my face on the cheeks/nose area there is a ton of dead peeled skin. I usually leave it as it is and moisturize because I feel that scrubbing it off would aggravate my rosacea (plus from what i've read exfoliation is generally a no-no with rosacea)

Anyway this time around I exfoliated and tried gently using a towel and scrubbing off some of the dead skin. My face feels a lot smoother and it seems easier to hydrate after the moisturizer is applied. What does everyone else do?

I also think demodex was loving my dead skin cells and that probably is not a good thing.

If the exfoliation is gentle enough it should be beneficial overall. Chemical peels are sometimes used in treatment.

Has anyone with rosacea tried adding 5% Xylitol to their hygiene routine? It makes keratin more slippery. Xylitol is edible and water soluble so I think it might gently remove peeling skin. I don't have rosacea so I don't know from own experience, but it seems to be a safe concept and worth trying. Dissolve it first 50/50 in water to make sure it goes completely into solution.
