Default Yonanas for those sweet cravings

Hey all, just wanted to share something that I love love love. It's called the 'Yonanas' machine and basically it takes 100% frozen fruit and turns it into a creamy treat like ice cream, but without any dairy, added sugars or added anything, really. Basically what YOU put in is what will come out! So far my favorite combination has been to process one frozen banana, a handful of frozen mango cubes and a handful of berry of choice, like strawberry or raspberry and mix them all together. It makes a surprising amount of treat for relatively little fruit. I know people that eat way more than 1 banana and a handful of berries a day, but that is really all you need to get a bowlful of yumminess that totally satisfies all cravings of ice cream or any sweet treat. One of the caveats is using overripe bananas, so this is also a great way of using those bananas that have been sitting around a little too long.

This is an excellent way to have a treat and not go overboard with the sugar or do any cheating. The frozen fruit is all 100% fruit, no sugar added and still contains all the fiber and nutrients that fruit is supposed to have. Plus, it's fun to change up the fruit and make different combinations. I recently mixed mango and blackberries together and it was fantastic!

My hubby bought a small tub of ice cream prior to getting the Yonanas, and he hasn't even touched it while saying to me every night, 'Let's make some Yonanas!'. This is also a great way to share a delicious and relatively healthy treat with the family as an alternative to all that stuff out there that is really not healthy.

JFYI, I have no affiliation with Yonanas and am not trying to advertise for the company since I don't gain anything from it. I'm just sharing this info because I LOVE my Yonanas!

    Hey Christine,
I bought the yonana machine last spring and I loved it too. Problem is I haven't used it in months LOL- thanks for reminding me.
Though my dh loves to remind me of all the great ideas I get/things I purchase and then stop using after a short while LOL. It is a bit of a hassle cleaning the thing and remembering to freeze the bananas etc. But definitely love the yonana!

Note: You must use bananas as one of the ingredients to give it the consistency you need so if you cannot eat bananas the yonana isn't for you.

    Hi Melissa,

Sometimes stores sell overripe bananas at a discount because they want to get rid of them. The best thing I found to do is to specifically buy ripe bananas and freeze them right away. In other words, buy bananas specifically for making yonanas and you will be more prone to making it.

I have also found that mango makes for really creamy treats, so it can be a replacement for banana. One certainly can't use something like just strawberries though, as it wouldn't have that creamy texture. I bet avocado would work well, but not really sure if the flavor would be good or what to pair it with. Maybe I'll try it someday.

I didn't really think that cleaning was too much of a hassle, personally, as all that is needed is a rinse of the 4 parts under some warm/hot water. No scrubbing involved. Maybe a deep clean every so often, but for the most part just a rinse will do the trick.

This sounds a great idea. Am thinking of investing in the machine. Thanks for the information.
