    Default just got prescribed Finacea...

And it cost me $185. Has it cost any of you a similar amount?

The doc prescribed this to me and oracea, which unfortunately I cannot get filled yet, as it needs "pre-certification".... god, this medical industry/big pharma crap really gets old, fast. It's a frickin' antibiotic!!!

    So anyway.... yeah.

I hope this helps. I don't know if it will. Time will tell, as everything.

I do not know. I have pretty severe P&Ps, and from what I've read, Oracea (Doxycycline pills) combined with Finacea is a winning combo.

I think Finacea and Oracea have some marginal benefit to redness, although some folks notice an increase in redness upon initial use. I think that's due to sensitivity and seems to reside for some after continued use. Right now, the only treatment for redness, according to the dermatologist's world anyway, is laser, and even that treatment is hit or miss. Good luck secondopinion. I think this is a good treatment for your type of rosacea just based on what I've seen via research online. Don't forget though, give it some time; like 2 weeks at least, some say up to 4 months. I would guess you should start seeing some sort of benefit between 2-4 weeks.

Wow, $185! Does your insurance not cover Finacea? I think it cost me around $50. Finacea is not the only azelaic acid product on the market. In Australia it's sold over-the-counter and can be purchased online for around $30.

I hope the Finacea\Oracea combo does the job for you.

    Good luck,
    Dave

    Ime-

Finacea is the only thing that worked and its natural and not a steroid.

Sooo...its been 2years on finacea and all Indo is put very little on my face 1xper day.

It allows me to not get over irritated and dry.

Also cerave + finacea is a good combo

Insurance is stupid.. I have a $500 deductible... so all my meds are expensive until I pass that threshold, then they're $30-50 each for name brand stuff.

I hope it works. Today was the first day I put it in. I'm holding off on using the doxy pills I was also prescribed... doc said try the topical first. If not working, then take the pills.

I hope it works... again, Metrogel did NOTHING for me this time around.

I guess I use like a pea-size? If I put too much, it feels sticky.

I had a bad 2-3 weeks when I first used it, but then my skin got used to it. The first time I tried, I gave up, but after reading stuff here, I decided to try again. Glad I did!
