Default Has anyone been treated by Sean Lanigan, Birmingham Skin Clinic

Hello I wondered if anyone had been treated by Sean Lanigan at the Birmingham Sk:in Clinic. He has written a lot of papers about treating using lasers, but of course this doesn't necessary mean he is actually good at treating rosacea. I was considering going to see him, but I would appreciate any feedback. If anyone doesn't want to post publicly about their experiences with him, do send me a PM. I'd really appreciate anything. Thanks.

Yep, I went to see him. I found him to be amiable and sympathetic to my condition. He really helped my Seb Derm (he has it himself) but he couldn't really help me with the rosacea. He did a patch test with PDL but it really bruised my face and so he referred me to Dr Murdoch at the Shropshire Skin Clinic in Shrewsbury for IPL. Even though it was a bit of a distance to travel for my treatments, Dr Lanigan said Dr Murdoch was the nearest derm he trusted with IPL (you really can't just go to anybody - it's not just about the equipment but also those using it.) I've had 4 treatments and my skin has improved greatly, though you can still see it slightly, but it's no where near as conspicuous as it used to be.

So, in short - if he can't help you, he will refer you to someone who can.

Hope this helps. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Hi KingCrimson, thanks for posting about your experience. I live in Shrewsbury and have been thinking about contacting the Shropshire Skin Clinic but was a bit hesistant because I can't find reviews or anything online.

How severe was your redness before you got the IPL if you don't mind me asking? Do you suffer from flushing aswell as redness?

    Thanks
