I recently heard a medical expert in lupus saying that lupus patients would need to be prescribed the old fashioned light bulbs when they are banned in the UK after October this year, because the new environmental bulbs cause lupus flare ups. He was quite convinced by the evidence. We all know how closely lupus and rosacea are related for some rosacea sufferers.

Geesh that would really stink for Lupus patients. Never thought of that. It looks like LED lights do not emit UV from what I've found on the web. I have some in my kitchen and I like them SO much better than fluorescent. I've hated fluorescent since I can remember. Must've been my body telling me they were dangerous! Can't believe how many years I sat beneath them unprotected as a child and young adult in school.... holy cow.

We replaced our CFL's with LED's at our beach house but not for the above reasons but for the fact that the LED's use a lot less power. This is just another reason to do so.
