Default Flushing, burning and swelling- how to combat flare ups during pregnancy

    Hi!

As stated above, I would love to hear if anyone has useful tips on how to handle flare ups during pregnancy. I used to think Aspirin was somewhat helpful (not always) but now I cant use it. Actually I've not really found à good regimen yet at all, but pregnancy does limit the options some... Should note I also have atopic dermatis and very dry skin.

Thanks for any help you might have!!

    The best!

    /Elle

I think diet might help -- get rid of flour-y things. Instead of a break basket at dinner eat a few nuts; instead of pasta make a vegetable the meal with your choice of pasta sauce: tomato, pesto, olive oil. You can whittle down your flour intake easily if you just think about it. The veggies have lots of fibre and you can have flax seed, just google it and see what you can do with it.

For skin application try manuka honey. Put it on as a mask. It's pretty drippy, so have a paper towel handy. Some people say they leave it on hours! I think just do it a few times a week and don't let it drive you crazy. Leave it on 15 mins. You can also make masks of fruits -- strawberries, for example. Or a yogurt mask. The acids will make your skin a bit softer and smoother, and take off that layer of dry cells.

Thanks, Ghost! Diet is something I'll try to think more about. Also had not heard about the honey-mask before, will try that out as well!

Make sure the honey is manuka -- it should be organic, unpasteurized. You can find it in a health food store.

You are OK with honey? No allergies to it?
