I know many have cold hands/feet and feel this plays some role in their flushing. I've dabbled with vasodilators in the past - gingko etc - to see if one could improve peripheral circulation without aggravating flushing but it was always a delicate balancing act.
Anyway, these last few weeks I've been taking iodine - 6.25mg/day - and my hands and feet have been consistently warm for the first time my whole life. Iodine is not - I guess - a direct vasodilator and has certainly not provoked flushing...but I can't yet say whether it will prove fundamentally helpful re flushing/redness.
Nice to have warm hands, at least.
Lots of info abroad about iodine supplementation. Some sound sources suggest ensuring your selenium intake is at a solid level before starting... and building the dose very slowly. Frankly, I jumped right in at 6.25 - which would be considered a reasonably high dose - and have seen nothing untoward. Do have more interesting dreams though.
So sorry to see the news about Warren. What a grand thing he did here.
