    Default Female Rhinophyma

Hi. I am new to the forum and would appreciate any assistance with managing my phymatous rosacea. I have rhinophyma and I am unable to take Accutane. Are there any other meds that might help my condition? I took Accutane many years ago for severe acne and it accelerated my genetic hair loss (female pattern baldness or AGA) and caused other permanent, undesirable effects. I am particularly struggling with pain inside of my nose that is most likely related to swelling. Thank you.

Hey there, so sorry for all you have been through. I think your best bet would be to find an experienced dermatologist to help you. I am sorry you had such a bad experience with Accutane but there are other treatments that might help. I believe lasers are being used for rhinophyma to name one treatment.

Here is a link to David Pascoe's site where he lists info and articles discussing the latest treatments that may help you.

What other permanent undesirable effects did you have taking accutane.
