Well I can officially my skin looks the worst it ever has. I only like 4 active/drying out pimples, but my skin has never been so red in my entire life. I mean I could have taken a hot shower for 20 mins and come out and looked decent, but now just walking around my skin sooooo red. It's blotchy and not normal looking. I don't like the finacea. Its only been a week, but I feel as if it is easily making my skin worse. I was having better success with salicylic acid exfoliant ever night from Paula choice. That helped the redness. This sucks. I'm thinking if stopping it, but continuing with the doxy for the month.

Hi migdaddy, I'm sorry you are not getting results as fast as you would like. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't you recently just start on this new regimen? Results can take longer than we want (believe me I understand as patience was never my strong suit) and you shouldn't give up just yet.

You really need to give the treatments time. If you are reacting to something you need to call your dermatologist and find out if it is normal and you should continue or not. Or decrease your application of whatever topical it is that might be exacerbating your redness. For example if you are applying something to your face twice a day try once a day or even once every other day. Sometimes a slow and gentle start is best.

Please hang in there and try and remain calm. And call your doctor if you are unsure about any reaction and also ask him/her how long to see results.

    Best,
    Melissa

This is my thought. I was using Paulas choice BHA aka salicylic acid gel and my skin was looking really good. Best it had in a while. I switched it up and went to an AhA from her and my skin didn't like it. That's when I went to the new derm and he gave me finacea. It's too harsh for my skin. I don't have a good feeling about it. The BHA was calming, and really reduced the redness. I'm thinking of going back to that, and staying on the doxy. The finacea has no question made my skin worse and I don't see it making things better. I guess I know my skin, and I jus feel like finacea isn't going to work.
