    Smile Regarding Riversol.

I saw some posts on Riversol here and I just wanted to say that I have been suffering from Severe Rosacea for 12 years and it completely rules my life. My face is red all the time and the pain stops me from living my life. I have tried hundreds of moisturizers and finally gave up because everything aggravated my Rosacea. I ended up using petrolium gel for 7 years then stopped tolerating that too and started using coconut oil instead. My face didn't get better but at least it blocked some of the pain.
I sent for a sample pack of the Riversol products and tried them with 100% conviction they would not work. But unfortunately they did. My face did not react badly to any of the products and I found that it even calmed the redness down. This is something I had stopped hoping for altogether because I had told myself I would sell my soul to devil for something that would ease my suffering. He must have heard me because when I found something after 12 years of suffering it turns out to cost 257 dollars with shipping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not rich, in fact we can hardly afford food. So I thought, well at least I can order another trial pack and get a few more weeks of relief from pain. Well then I discoved that they now do not send their sample packs to the US for 5 dollars shipping anymore. Shipping is now 35 dollars on a 29.95 trial pack to the US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I emailed them to ask why but they have not replied in 2 weeks. Now I find myself in a very bad mood because I know there is a product that helps me have less pain but it costs as much as a car payment:-(
This post is not a scam. I am NOT associated with this company, in fact I think that if they were sincerely interested in helping suffering people, they would not make it available only to the very wealthy.

I just wanted to say that if there are some of you out there who are in so much pain you have lost interest in life and you happen to be well off , then try it yourself before you make up your mind. Nobody that has not had severe Rosacea can know what it is like to have a few days where your face is pink instead of beet red , and where it doesn't feel like someone just poured acid on it.
So what am I going to do? Well I guess I will have to start saving up every little dollar I can for a long time if I am ever going to be able to buy this again:-(

On another subject that I happened to see in the post about Riversol was that some of you seem to react badly to a high carb diet. I lost 75 pounds on the low carb Protein power diet, my Rosacea got really bad during this. Started eating normal food gained back the weight and my face got better. Then last year my Rosacea got worse than ever so after 6 months of careful food experimentation I have found out beyond any doubt what my triggers are.
My worst Triggers: Protein powder Rice or Soy or any kind: Chicken, especially thighs : Eggs and Dark Chocolate ! In addition of course to any kind of pepper or chilli.
Sugar has NEVER triggered my Rosacea. If I avoid protein, chocolate and pepper and eat lots of "bad carbs" my face gets better.
Now That being said, I LOVE all meat and fish and chocolate and I do not eat any sugar or white carbs any more. The only "candy" I have is fruit, berries and dark chocolate. And I only eat vedgetables and meat and fish and try not to eat starches. I do this to loose weight and stay healthy BUT I am aware that by eating a low starch low sugar high protein diet ,my face flushes a lot more.
With this insanely expensive Riversol product I have found I can have 2 squares of dark chocolate at night without getting a super purple flush. But the Rice protein still makes me flush.
So I guess everybody reacts differently to foods. I happen to react to the foods i love and need to be healthy, but I am trying to find a balance where I never eat protein alone without "diluting " it with fruit or vedgetables etc.
I hope this helps somebody out there that is living in constant pain:-)
I also have an extreme pain in my scalp and I cannot use shampoo at all but I have found a shampoo soap out there that has taken my pain away so if anybody has extreme scalp pain from Rosacea you can post here and I will tell you about the soap I found. I don't want to sound like some idiot just trying to promote products so I have no reason to post about it now since I know that having scalp pain with Rosacea is extremely rare !.

Couple of little things. Are you OK with dairy? Then instead of the rice protein powder you might consider whey powder (body building section of health food store). Rice is still carb and acts the same as other carbs/starches.

For your scalp you might try a pack of baking soda and conditioner. And final-rinse with 1/2 and 1/2 water and vinegar (leave this in).

Tea tree oil shampoo is good, too. Is that what you're using?

    Thanks for your input!
Unfortunately I am 100% lactose intolerant, meaning I can't even have a teaspoon of sour cream without paying with some unpleasant bathroom visits. There is one brand of 100% lactose free milk protein but it is 54 dollars and the rice protein is 13. Also I want to keep milk protein to a minimum since I get more flaky skin when I eat a lot of lactose free milk yogurt.
After having tons of soy for 20 years I also react adversely to soy protein. I just hope that I will be able to tolerate stuff like rice protein and chicken etc a little better when I have healed my reflux and stomach problems from eating the wrong foods last year ( meaning flour starches etc). I only eat veggies, fruits and fish plus meat now and I'm getting a little better.
I have the worst reflux but I refuse to have prilosec every day since I believe in the natural approach.
I am sensitive to almost all natural herbal stuff like aloe, or tea tree or chamomille but the unscented shampoo bar I use have changed my life completely. I am almost completely free of scalp pain and my hair look twice as thick. It's not a shampoo for someone who has coarse hair and want softness but for my thin fine limp hair and my Rosacea sensitive scalp it has made miracles. I used to have to wash my hair every day and it still got greasy .Now my hair looks good even on the third day because this soap does not stimulate sebum production. Someone recommended it on a hairloss/eczema forum because they had severe scalp problems and I am so grateful I gave it a try!

It does make the hair very dry but for me that is wonderful since I have had such greasy and limp hair :-)

Portland girl, what about powdered egg whites? Just something else to maybe keep you away from starchy rice powder. Sure, it's more expensive, but anything is better than rosacea.

I blasted the bugs out of my scalp alternating treatments of tea tree oil and ivermectin (the bovine kind, injectable, applied topically). Also, biotin worked very well, too (capsules). My hair is 2x as long as it could grow before. No one has any idea, do they, that fine, fragile hair can actually be traced to bugs chewing away on your growing hair. Ew!

I know the reflux is likely contributing to your rosacea. May I recommend the homeopathic Nux Vomica. Try it at a low potency. 2 common potencies available at drugstores or health food stores are 6c and 30c. Either can do it.

Also -- do you suspect you have a hiatal hernia, which causes reflux? A good chiropractor can adjust your stomach. I've had this done 2x in my life, after surgeries (not stomach surgeries! But the anesthesia did nasty things to my stomach. Made it float up. Maybe because my diaphragm was so relaxed while I was under). It's a 2 minute procedure and it works instantly.

At a good chiropractor you can call and ask if the doctor is familiar with this technique.

    Thanks for the tips.
I will look for powdered egg whites. I take biotin every day.I will look into that homeopathic stuff. My reflux is probably from obesity ,I store all my fat on my stomach above the waist around the organs. 3 years of extreme financial stress have taken a toll but now things are better so I'm trying to loose the weight . It's hard when you can't really sweat but I try to go for walks and eat right:-)
