Low carb Ghost - try between 30-50gms per day
Low carb Ghost - try between 30-50gms per day
That IS low. :-/
I don't know what the key can be.
But in the book I mentioned the doc says rising LDL has nothing to do with the fats you eat.
STRESS, however, could mess you up. (Now this is me talking... I believe stress can make your liver wacky.)
Anyway, I hope you can skim the book. It's in a cheap paperback edition. And I borrowed my copy from the library.

Im no expert but I think egg yolks are different as they are so high in cholesterol. Other good fats I eat have pretty much zero cholesterol content
PS - my skin upsets me, especially when people comment on it but I wouldn't really describe myself as stressed tbh
Do you drink alcohol or take any kind of drugs (meds or anything)? These can all impact your liver and it has a hard time doing its job. Even past drugs can do it (incl. antibiotics).
You might read up on milk thistle:

Drink alcohol on rare occasions only. Just started taking propranolol a few weeks ago but nothing before that for some time. Stopped taking anti biotics a long time ago. My cholesterol has doubled in about a year to 18 months which roughly coincides with my change in diet. Started eating lots of eggs to compensate lack of wheat /carbs/cereals in my diet.
I'm generally very fit and healthy so im convinced its the eggs. Perhaps my doctor will tell me otherwise after a few tests but that's what I feel it is
Is the propranolol for HBP or anxiety?
In either event, something is out of balance.
I eat "a lot" of eggs, too. Maybe 8 - 10 per week. But not every week.
My compensation for the bad carbs is nuts. Instead of a bread basket, I put out a few nuts.
If you think it's the eggs, maybe you can drop those and do egg white powder (in shakes or however, it's sold in the health food store) for protein and otherwise eat organic poultry and meat and wild fish. Also leaves and greens like broccoli and cauliflower (OK, it's white, but you know what I mean).
I had HBP before dropping the bad carbs. That's all it took for my BP to become normal. Anxiety/flushing disappeared at the same time.

Im a strange one tbh I wouldn't say I suffer from anxiety but I flush incredibly easily and for apparently no reason. I suppose it must be a form of social anxiety as it doesn't happen when I'm alone. However it does seem random and something I can't seem to control - believe me I've tried.
For example, I might be telling a group of people about something, a story, a joke or whatever and sometimes ill just go red mid story. Occasionally its enough of a distraction that it makes me forget what I'm saying or cut my story short.
I guess my body doesn't like being centre of attention, I say my body because in my mind I've no problem being centre of attention or talking in social situations.
Occasionally someone catching me off guard and saying my name can cause a flush. Entering a room full of people etc
My face is always hot and my feet are always cold. I suggested propranolol to my doctor after reading about it on here. I suppose the idea is to slow my heart rate down in social/emotional/adrenalin situations.
See now that I've thought about all that and written it all down it makes me sound like a bit of butter... I'm not... honest :-)
Yes, you are a strange one! My thought just goes to that there must be something in your diet that's not quite "Kosher". There was a sea change for me, and a rapid one, when I dropped the grain (etc.). Just maybe your body is reacting against the propranolol, trying to kick its effects off.
I had the same thing: I didn't MIND being the center of attention, but the blush/flush came on. Now it's fine. (No, didn't have cholesterol issue.)
Is your gut functioning perfectly?
In addition to my diet change I also took herbs against parasites and candida. Those things can throw you out of whack.
OK, off to saute some organic, free range chicken in organic, free range coconut oil.

I don't actually think my high cholesterol is linked directly to my rosacea but think it's a result of my diet change.
On a day to day basis my diet is:
Scrambled eggs with salmon/chicken /left over veg
Salad with tuna/chicken, avocado, cucumber, olives and boiled egg - with spray of olive oil
Roast chicken, with broccoli and cabbage.
Snacks: celery sticks & feature carrot batons with humour.
Drinks: lots of water, soda and lime cordial and the odd diet coke.
I do stray occasionally when I can't cook for myself ie visiting friends but 95% prob as above
