    Default Mixture for Face....

Found this on an old blog from D Pascoes website. I think I am going to give it a try. Has anyone tried this mix?

I have had rosacea for over 15 years and have had limited success with metro cream, finacea, and antibiotics. Usually it gets a little better for a few days then is back again and I can’t stand the constant yeast infections when I am on antibiotics. I finally got sick of it all a few weeks ago and went on a mission to find a better treatment. I read that everything from bacteria, fungal infections, to dermodex mites (YIKES!) might be the cause, so I came up with a process to address them all. I wash my face 2x per day with Selsun Blue shampoo. At night I apply a mixture of 1/3 each tea tree oil, coconut oil, and Vitamin E oil. Tea tree oil is antifungal, antibacterial, and kills the dermodex mites (makes me itch all over just to think of them). Coconut oil is absorbed easily and is supposed to help with wrinkles which I liked : ). Vitamin E is a healing oil. The tea tree oil is powerful and very stinky! Smells like kerosene mixed with Vicks Vapor Rub or something equally horrible. If you are planning on romance, put it on after. Anyway, I sleep with that and wash again in the morning. I put the tea tree mixture all over my face at night, but you can use it on a Q tip to just put it on problem spots if it is too irritating for your entire face. I did have a little extra redness from the tea tree oil for a day or two, but my skin has adapted and does not react at all now-I am so glad I stuck with it. I have been putting metrocream on after the morning Selsun Blue wash, but I am not convinced it is helping-never has helped much, but since I had some, thought I might as well use it up. I also use Vitamin E and Coconut oil on any dry spots in the morning, but only use tea tree at night. Anyway, after a day, my face was noticably better, but still red. After about 3 weeks there was a HUGE improvement. It has been about 6 weeks and my skin has not looked this good since I was about 10 years old. I am not kidding. I can go without make up for the first time in my adult life and not feel self-conscious. The tea tree oil is STRONG! Test it out first and make sure it doesn’t irritate your skin. The Selsun Blue will dry your skin out, but the coconut and Vitamin E oils take care of that. If you try any of this, please post and let me know if it works for you. I am so happy to have normal skin again and I will say, my fine line wrinkles are way better too. I feel like I am touching someone else’s forehead when I touch my face and the tiny pimples that were constantly there are gone!

From a Seb Derm perspective I'll occasionally use the Selsun Blue on the face and scalp when things start getting bad
(ps...only at night cause it stinks no matter how much perfume they add )

It comes and goes with me - I can usually maintain using Nizoral every few days
but will start rotating between the major non-prescription shampoos if things start getting worse
    Nizoral (1% Ketoconazole)
    Selsun Blue (Selenium Sulfide)
Head and Shoulders (Pyrithione zinc 1% and 2% variations)

Default I tried out Mrsmoof's little mixture

    Hi Mrsmoof
I have been trying out your potion since Friday night - it is now Monday morning and I can see a marked improvement in my skin.
My face and neck had really been getting me down - they were roaring red and felf as if there were littled spiders crawling all over them.
I had previously been self medicating with cortisone creams - they were a temporary fix and the rash kept coming back with a vengence.
I'm going to continue with your little mixture and I will let you know how I get on.
Did the mixure do anything to help with the little spider veins that are now appearing after the pimples have subsided???
Thank you soooooo much for all your help!!!!
