Question Rosacea AFTER menopause? (Ladies please).

    Hello Ladies,

My rosacea is VERY hormonally-driven & I am ever-hopeful that it will get alot better/cease after the menopause.

I have read that this is often the case for some women, is there any evidence to support this please?

    Thank you!

i guess i had rosacea when i was perimenopausal, but it wasn't diagnosed until i was all-the-way menopausal.
but as usual, we're all different.

    Hi Judy,

From what I have heard from a derm, this might be the case when a woman starts to flush because of the hot flashes, in which case, when the hot flashes cease, the flushes cease too. At least that's what he told me. But, as Dora says, every case is different...

I heard from a friend in her 30's, whos rosacea and flushing is very hormonally driven, that her derm thinks she will be having much less problems after menopause. She was doing a lot better while breast feeding and he said that indicates that the oestrogen levels are of influence, and after menopause he said the hormone balances return to the same state they are in during breast feeding, hence the improvement she had (virtually no flushing).

I only heard this though, not been through any of it all myself yet.
Uses: 15 mg mirtazapine, clonidine and propranolol, Xyzal at times.
    Diet: it's complicated

    Default Thank you!

Interesting that although I get 'hot flushes' on my body I don't get a flushed face at the same time!

My skin/face is certainly calmer when my cycle is calmer........roll on the menopause eh?
