    Default Borax for mites. Amount??

I have demodex mites on my face. I am sure I have them on my scalp and places on my body too. I've read about borax. Where do I purchse this? Walmart?

Also, I have read that borax and hydrogen peroxide in a tub is good. What should the measurements/amount be?

I also read that instead of borax and HP, that I could use Epsom salt and baking soda to kill mites. Is this true and what would those measurements to draw a bath?

Can I wet my hair and dip my head and face in a borax/HP bath or a Epsom salt/baking soda bath?

Also, is ACV, good to drink and put on skin as well for killing mites?

I tried Permethrin but am told to use once a week. I could see some improvement at first just off the first two applications and then the next application the next week as well where my red/pink skin was getting lighter and same thing the next week when it was time for the permethrin again. I was told by my derm to use the cream twice a day only ONCE a week meaning only one day a week. But after the second week and second application, I decided to use it everyday the last few days just to see what would happen and my skin started looking pinker all over my face so I stopped. I'm nervous there is a chance the mitesstarted getting immune or if it was a sign that it was working I don't know...I just took yesterday my second and last dosage of 3 pills of 3mg ivermectin. I have unfortunately not seen any improvement from the ivermectin

I just don't know what to do anymore. These mites are taking over my life. I feel them crawling so much, they are eating apart my skin and ruining the texture and creating holes, lines, indents. What else will be a harsh kill method to do? And should I just do the lasers at this point to kill the mites off? I'm worried I'll do the lasers and it'll help temporarily but if I haven't addressed the mites on my scalp and body, they will migrate back to my face.

i've never used the borax treatment but if you look up the forum member called Ghost, her "about me" page has a lot of details about it.

as for "safe ivermectin cream", there doesn't seem to be one. people on this forum have experimented with applying ivomec (a product made to be injected into animals) to their faces (as a topical, not an injection!). you can get it from veterinary supply companies. if you run a search for "ivermectin" using the search gizmo in the upper right of the sceen, you'll find a number of threads about it.

    i hope that helps

Thank you! Well, I have already read Ghost's profile last night and I went and bout 20 mule team borax from walmart. I mixed some with HP in an empty water bottle, shook and then put onto a cotton ball. I slept with it on my face last night. Boy, is it pretty drying. Also, I didn't get a good sleep because I knew the bits of borax were falling into my ears, mouth, nose and eyes while I slept even though I did a good job to keep it away from the eyes, this stuff is too grainy and fine and it freaks me out that it can get into my body....is this bad? Is it bad for my health? My skin looks pinker today and maybe a little drier. I didn't really feel any crawling last night, but I wonder if that's only because the borax made a type of mask/paste on my face so the mites couldn't really come up out of the hair follicles and pores. Has Borax/HP mixture helped anyone besides Ghost? I'm curious if this stuff really works....because I don't understand how it does and who in the world thought of it for killing demodex? Lol.

Exclamation How to use Borax & HP so it works

birdsing, you have to run the hp/borax solution through a coffee filter. It's in the instructions. Then you get far, far less grainy stuff (only what starts to clump together again in your storage bottle). You don't need a lot of solution on at once. You need to just finger tip it on every time you go into the bathroom when you're home, and then finger tip it on at night as soon as you get home, then after you wash your face, then a couple of times before bed. It dries almost instantly. It's all there.

BTW, I had super "dry" skin before I started using the solution. Then all the "dry" skin seemed to just go away. I'm pretty sure "dry" skin has to do with the excavating of the demodex.

Full disclosure: I use a Clarisonic with the blue collared brush (that is collar, not color) and a high-end cleanser at night.

Thanks Ghost. I guess I thought I'd be silly and skip the coffee filter but now I understand it's purpose. How fast did you see results with using the borax when it came to the appearnce of your skin?

Also, it I did get some borax in my eyes, ear, nose and mouth....should I be concerned? Should I see a doctor to get checked out? I don't know the safety of this stuff.

I'm worried and feel that perhaps I got some in my left eye and ears because my ears seem to feel a bit clogged.

Actually, my skin has been intensely oily for the past 6 months. I went through a rough period where my skin was so tight and dry when my skin was at it's worst and was very red, it was frightening, but now it's oily in my t zone and front cheeks area and sometimes it's crazy oily it looks wet up close. I've noticed the mites really love when my skin is oily and they really try to tear it up.

Also, Ghost, can you refer me to the website that you purchased the ivermectin you use on your face? I definitely want to get that.

And the clarisonic, is that for buffing away the mites? Kind of like a scrub? I have a gel scrub at home but not a brush and I have a cleanser that I think the mites don't like too much.

You can google ivermectin and find several sources. Also, if you're in the "country" there may even be a farm store that has it. It's in a little black box with a bovine head graphic.

Final word: I advise you that ivermectin is sold for ANIMALS mainly for internal parasites.

You can google Clarisonic. It's *everywhere*. I don't know how you missed it. Derms carry it, Bergdorf-Goodman has it, bloomindale's has it, Sephora has it. It's a gadget. You can find a zillion reviews for it on line.

Thank you. I am willing to try anything. I am at that point where I'm falling apart and think my life will never be the same. My face has deteriorated so much. There are so many lines and indents and horrible skin texture all over my face it's terrifying. These mites destroyed me. I have to wear make-up because I look horrifying otherwise and I perform in a show and I have a boyfriend who doesn't know about my problems because I'd be terribly embarassed if he did. I do my best to cover with make-up. Is there any kinds of makeup you found were good to use and didn't make the mites happy?

Would it be a good idea to try putting borax hp solution on face then some lotion and makeup? I feel like holing up in my house for three months and hiding from everyone just to get this under control because they are so rapidly destroying my skin, I don't know what to do. They might be taking all the moisture out of my skin and eating it so my skin is drying up and looking so horrific.

Also, is it ok to use moisturizer? I am using Cetaphil, but don't know if it's ok or if mites like lotion.
