Question RLT for permanent redness & seb derm

I have suffered from permanent pinkness/redness on my nose and cheeks area for about 7 years. The primary cause is seborrheic dermatitis, and I generally have controlled the flaking with diet, baking soda, moisturizing, etc.

The problem is that the pinkness/redness is always there and I can't even remember what my skin used to look like after nearly a decade of this. I have no flushing but also experience some minor acne around my nose and telangiectasias on the bridge my nose.

I haven't seen much talk about RLT for people with my symptoms. Has anyone experienced success in reducing mild to moderate permanent redness, telangiectasias, or seb derm?

Default I would have to say

THe Red Light Therapy might be worth a try. I used it and have used it for about a year now or so...

For me, I have to say my face is getting better and better...

Doing a lot of things the "right" way these days but I have to say it seems the RLT did something good along the way and even now.

I have to use the mirror to bounce the light off of and back onto my face and then I use it like that for about 5 minutes tops. Any longer and I will have a sunburned look. Others seem to have skin much more tolerant but not me.

    Try it. Good luck.

My derm suggested this as an option for me too. I have redness around my nose and above my mustache line. Its been like this for coming up on 4 months. Depending on the price, I may really consider it. I couldnt imagine having it for 7 years. Kudos to you for keeping sane....I know I wouldnt be able to and I have been struggling and its only been 16 weeks.

You might check Kristen (Banshee's) old posts...I think she had Seb derm and was very knowledgeable about its cause and different treatments. If the root cause of seb derm is inflammation, RLT may indeed be helpful. If I remember Seb derm stays in one place--mainly the face(?)--so it would lend itself to treatment with RLT.

I have a friend who has fairly bad psoriasis, but it appears and disappears in different places and over wider areas (curved surfaces, like his arms, though that's not impossible to treat with RLT exposure), and I had offered to let him try RLT on it as an experiment. I guess it's not bad enough for him or he's controlling it via other methods to his satisfaction.

I have a feeling that if we get at the inflammation problem for any surface and sub-surface disorders, you may see good results.

Please feel free to PM me with your low-level red light therapy (LLRLT) questions. I'm happy to help if I can.
