Dr Crouch in Swindon is good, not sure that's too far away. Not sure if Dr. Patterson is still working but I would avoid him by all means.

    Good luck

    Hi Ajay,

because dr. Patterson refused to give me test patches and then gave me a very harsh treatment that made my rosacea permanently worse, to the debilitating state. I had asked him at forehand if he ever experienced rosacea getting worse from an IPL treatment with his patients, because I didn't want to risk that, and he assured me he never had seen that, it either improved or stays the same. However, after looking for more information after the treatment, I read many testimonials from his patients who had similar deterioration. And when I came back (all the way from Holland every time) to show my purple face he was as rude to say that the grief over my sister, who had died a few months before, must have caused the deterioration, not his IPL treatment. Really rediculous and outragious, given that my rosacea went from let's say scale 5 with occasional flushing to scale 10 with non stop flushing as soon as I had the treatment done. He took his hands off it completely, said he couldn't help me any further and best of luck with the rest of your life. Just a disgrace of a doctor in my opinion.

hi, I have also had several ipl treatments that have made my skin redder and a lot more prone to flushing adding to the blushing problem i already have.
I am now at the point where i have finished my job due to the heat causing facial flushing and anxiety.
Some doctors are happy to take your money and play with their lasers on your face not caring what the outcome is.

    Sorry to hear Red Devil
Did the doc you saw do test patches first? Or just zapped away?

For me, medication did help to bend the severe post treatment flushing around and with a skilled IPL/laser practitioner you might still be able to get good results.
I would just always go for (multiple if necessairy) test patches to be sure a treatment or setting is helping. Test patches should show some improvement, or I wouldn't risk my face.. However, for most ppl IPl and laser seems to work well and instantly, I don't know why some, like us, respond negative to it. It might be the practitioner, it might be the machine, the energy that's used, the state of our skin, sensitivity to light, medication use.... Very frustrating.

    Best wishes Natalja

Oh, and apart from Dr Crouch (who has been very cooperative and understanding), all the laser docs I saw looked at me as if I was crazy and annoying and a hypochondriac when I asked for test patches, and discussed the price for it. But just stand by it I'd say, because if a treatment does make your rosacea worse, they usually brush it off or say sorry, best to not continue treatment and have a good life. So the only one who should take proper care of yourself is you... Sad but true.
