Default Flushing News - Carvedilol, Anyone Try it??

Hi All! My dermatologist just sent me an article just published in November about a recent study done on the use of the beta blocker Carvedilol (instead of the other beta blockers). The results of the study were amazing!!! the onset was fast (results within 2 weeks) and it reduced her redness and her flushing and allowed her to come off other meds. He is willing to prescribe this medicine to me to try - its worth a try!!!

Has anyone heard of this or given it a try??

    Hi,

thanks for sharing! I only found one medical raport about it, but without the details as you need to subscribe for the med page first then.
I wonder how much difference it's actions are compared to propranolol beta blocker?
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16243148
Maybe it's actions are very similar, would you be able perhaps to ask your doctor about this, and what she thinks?

I know my London dermatologist already prescribes propranolol for many years to persistant flushers and I am wondering now if this Carvedilol
is much different in it's actions.
Uses: 15 mg mirtazapine, clonidine and propranolol, Xyzal at times.
    Diet: it's complicated

He gave me the article! It is so darn impressive!!! How do you attach a pdf article?? it is a recent article from their dermatology publications. The color piece is important. If someone can tell me how to attach, I will attach the article. It tell the difference between propranolol and all the other beta blockers. Gosh -- I am just so darn excited about this I can hardly stand it...but I wanted to share with others who are on this type of medicine....and get a bunch of eyes on it....to see if we are perhaps missing something.

My derm just mentinoned to me the same study/article. She said it acts a little different than the other beta blockers. She wants me to try it as well. Hopefully, this one will work!
