I've had Blepharitis for most of my life. (now 40) You know the effects of Blepharitis, dry eye, red and swollen lids and the ever lasting embarrassment of first time impressions that seem to eat away at the self-esteem. I have seen a number of eye Dr's over the years and recently one eye Dr. ( a specialist) has told me that I have Ocular Rosacea...yet another eye Dr has told me I have Blepharitis...so back and fourth. I'm currently on Torbadex 2 times a day and a RX eye drop 4 times a day. Its not helping..its basically irritating my eyes.
I do have to wonder if this eye condition is as I been told. Although I do get dry eye at times, and some minor "flakey stuff" for the most part my eyelids are rather clean, I do keep them that way. The only real gripe I have is the redness in the lids..seems nothing will tame it. I do use warm compress routinely. So I'm interested to know if I could have a totally different problem going on. Such as...What part of my body is creating the eyelid oils in such a thicker matter thus blocking the flow? I have currently read that other factors "can sometimes" contribute to this such as hormone imbalance, thyroid issues even cholesterol issues.
I also have to wonder if maybe I just have broken blood vessels in my eyelids causing such redness. Can anyone out there relate to these symptoms? Have any advice, any new info?
