    Default Roger Ebert

This is a recent blog post about how Roger Ebert has come to terms with his changes in appearance. Ebert's blog is generally really good and this post in particular I think some of us will be able to relate to. For me, it puts into perspective the merely cosmetic changes I've had to start coming to terms with with my appearance.

I love Ebert's blog. He's an eloquent writer and always has something insightful to say. Though I still have a slight quibble with his selection of Synecdoche as the best film of the noughties...

Thank you, Shrimpy, for posting this and putting things in perspective. I cannot even imagine the horror that Rober Ebert has being going through. And he handles it with such stoicism and aplomb. Ironically, I was misdiagnosed with salivary gland cancer back in 2005. It was a very scary time that turned out well (just walked away with a small scar under my chin).

Yesterday, I went to a party of about 15 people. First time ever since I was a teen that I have been to a public function without my second face on, lol. I felt very strange--unmasked, if you will. But I think it was a very good step for me.

Default Katie Piper 'My Beautiful face'.

Over here in the UK they are showing the above documentary about a beautiful young

girl who had acid thrown in her face on the instruction of an ex-boyfriend.

This amazing young woman has rebuilt her life, face, confidence & is trying to change

    our perception of 'beauty'.

We here on this forum have many challenges everyday (& I understand that many of us

if we can accept the look of rosacea find the pain even more difficult to bear), but to

see/hear stories like this surely helps us all fight on!

"Katie Piper is a beautiful young woman, rebuilding her life after surviving a brutal attack in 2008, where sulphuric acid was thrown in her face."
