    Default Best concealer for men

I would like to know what everyone thinks the best concealer is for a man? I have rosacea on my cheeks and recently tried Zinco. I was really happy with it but since I noticed that waterdrops leave white trails on my cheeks I stopped using it. If you're standing in the rain or sweating, you look ridiculous. I asked Rosacea Care why a sunscreen isn't waterproof and they said they weren't planning on changing the recipe.

I heard many positive reviews about Dermablend and am planning to try it, but I don't know how I should decide what color is best for me?

Also, I would prefer it not to be make-up (powder, that is), because that looks a little bit too feminin.

So what (that you have tried or not) do you think is the best concealer?

Eucerin redness relief is pretty good, and has a green tint which neutralizes redness. I've found it is not a good moisturizer though, even though it's advertised as such. If you have oily skin, it may be ok by itself, otherwise you'd have to use with a moisturizer....

    Heya

I would say the best thing to do would be to go to a pharmacy that has a large range of makeup brands and ask one of the cosmetic consultants about your options. Thesedays there is just so many products out there, and you can ask for free samples so that you can try products out before making a full purchase.

When I got a colour analysis done (what 'season' i am/what colours I suit best) the consultant gave me a free creamy redness-correcting yellow-stick. It has no brand or anything on it but it has lasted ages. (I'll have to go back to her if I need another one). It isn't a normal concealer, in that it glides over the skin and is very creamy, very blendable. It is designed to neutralise red/pink skin and is designed to be worn alone really, but may also be worn under foundation. I've hunted on the web for something similar and this is an example, but it's currently out of stock. Maybe a cosmetic consultant could assist with an alternative?:

    Heya

Not so sure about that Maybelline one; haven't seen that product in NZ....

Would say this Clinique one would likely be more gauranteed to have the effect of the one I currently use. It is specially designed for redness. You would just dot it over the red areas and gently blend into the skin with fingertips to look like you're not wearing any makeup. Hopefully a Clinique makeup person can give you a sample in a sachet or try it out directly on your skin: http://www.clinique.com/product/CATE...ers/index.tmpl

Sorry, I forgot to say that I already use Eucerin redness relief.

Currently I'm trying to choose between these 3:

    http://vichyconsult.co.uk/products-D...eam-stick.aspx

    http://vichyconsult.co.uk/products-C...ver-cream.aspx

    http://vichyconsult.co.uk/products-F...oundation.aspx

If I'm correct the cover cream gives a very thick coverage, not really natural looking, more like for scars and tattoos. I'm quite interested in the cream stick but I'm not sure whether or not it gives enough coverage (and I think it's not waterproof either).

I use Eucerin Redness Relief too, the correcting day fluid with the green tint. The only problem i have is if i apply too much it makes me look pale and ill with a greenish tint. If you also apply too much it becomes visible in any enlarged pores. I'm sure there are better tinted moisturisers around but i haven't tried any yet.

I think as for makeup which i turned to out of desperation really it would be better to use a foundation designed for coverage rather then a concealer if you are trying to cover the entire cheek area. I tried rimmel stay matte mouse foundation just on my cheek area which blends in really well giving a matte effect rather then that kind of glowing, duey look.

It was also important for me to have any makeup i was wearing look undetectable. I've found it hard enough dealing with the bright red face without people thinking im going into the toilet to touch my face up. I found before leaving the house a quick check in the daylight rather then just indoors does the trick.

I've had great success with Aveeno tinted moisturizer (SPF30), there's a medium and a light version, depending on your skin tone. It's a brownish tint, but looks natural, and is unnoticable.

I agree, the eucerin green tint does leave you white, and is also harder to rub into the face. It also does not look good at all in photographs.

The Sher System do a good solution called SOS which unlike most foundations actually helps to reduce pustules. It dries them up pretty fast. It's not a foundation as such but for a guy it can certainly help reduce visible redness on the nose for example. You probably wouldn't want to use it over whole face every day as quite drying after a while of using it. They offer a number of different shades to match your skin tone of the SOS solution.

How do you buy this Sher system? There is no online purchasing option that I could find.
