Hi all, just wanted to post a find. I know MSG (glutamates) has been talked about before, but I couldn't search for a thread as the search engine won't accept three letter keywords. My diet had been working very well for me and it seemed that redness was either stable or slowly diminishing and a drastic decrease in papules/pustules, especially on the chin area where I am prone to getting them.
Well, I've been on vacation in the states for over a month now and during that time my strict diet has been completely out the window. I ate everything I was told not to- eggs, milk products, wheat, rice, etc etc. Basically it was a free-for-all. Even then I didn't notice much change for a long time. Then I made myself some rice noodles I used to eat and like back when my face was in bad shape. I make them with some chicken boullion dissolved in water and then more to sprinkle on top. I made enough to eat 4 or 5 meals, All of a sudden, my chin broke out in a billion of almost hive-like, deep, painful sores. It's been almost a week and they seem to be very slowly healing, but I can still feel them there deep under the surface. I wish there was a way I could speed the healing process... I remember thinking before that chicken was no good for me because my face reacted badly to the chicken boullion which has a ton of MSG in it. Now I'm getting a severe reaction from the same thing again months later except now I know chicken is not the cause.
Anyway, to wrap up, I was researching MSG sensitivity and came across this forum post which is very old but still interesting: http://www.msgmyth.com/discus/messag...tml?1152974443
Seems like some people there attribute rosacea to neurotoxins in food like MSG, aspartame, etc.
