Default Learning German - any native speakers want to help me practice?

For no real reason at all, I am learning German now. Anyone want to help me out? Gibt es jemand der mir helfen will? I am beginner-intermediate, just enough to get by in a text-based environment. Feel free to PM or reply to this thread, either way.

    Thanks!

(Wait, I just noticed that I have 1,111 posts. I can't bring myself to post again, and break the symmetry! J/K. It's kinda cool though.)

Oh my gosh - I took German in high school. Now you have me wishing I had kept up on it.

Maybe you could add a bit of interest to your life there is a german rosacea forum called "rosazea.net" and you can have alternative language in your browser go to. TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS,LANGUAGES, GERMAN!
And with google maps and pegman you can visit german towns its quite interesting also you can download microsofts virtual keyboard for german and use it in word. You don,t need word 2010 or proofing tools to do it.

One website that's really good for practice is http://sharedtalk.com, they have a German chat room that is usually pretty busy.

Glücklicherweise, heutzutage das (der? die? weiss nicht) Internet ist sehr nützlich um eine Sprache zu lernen.

How long ago did you take German? For how long? They say if one doesn't study a language for at least two years, the knowledge isn't consolidated and one will probably forget everything. (In my case, I forget everything anyway.)

Drums, danke fuer die ausgezeichnete website . Ich hatte es vor gesehen, aber Ich hatte vergessen. Ich habe jetzt registriert. I will check out the virtual keyboard, I have been wanting to start using umlauts but without the right keyboard type, it's hard to do. For exploring Germany (and other places) I like to use http://www.360cities.net, they have panoramic photos from all over the world.

I'll give up on trying to translate the German for now, it's too close to bedtime. Babelfish is my friend, and I will be cheating when I come back to read this.

How long ago? Over 20 years, my Dear, and for two years exactly. And I have forgotten most of it! Along with the Japanese I learned through immersion during a month-long student trip to Japan. I can manage a Konnichi wa? or moshi-moshi! in a pinch, but not much more.

I hope there's a stronger German speaker lurking about for you - I won't be much help.

Drums, do you know the people who run the forum over there at rosazea.net? I've tried to sign up three times, and I'm never approved. Can you tell them to approve the account "DerBergRuft"?

    Thx,
    Steve
