    Hi Kranekrane,

You should read this entire thread from the start, it will help you to better understand this process. Like Dora said, we are not injecting the the liquid, we are just applying it to our face using a cotton ball.

I am finding that to keep the papules under control I am using the Ivermectin solution pretty much everyday. I went 3 days with out using it and I have a few papules on my cheeks today. Once I start using the Ivermectin again they disapear within a couple of days.

This in mind Dave I would have to say that the results aren't as good as with the Ivermectin on the trial. I didn't get any papules back for months after I stopped using it. The preparation that it was also in was also very moisturising and I didn't have to use anything else.

Though with the Jojoba my skin has gotten very soft, soft enough that my husband commented on how good it felt.

Rop, I find that once my papules are under control the redness diminishes as well, so does the burning.

I did have a flush the other day but I had an extreemly difficult patient who made me incredibly furious. My flushes used to last pretty much the day but it had settled within a couple of hours.

You make a good point Rachel, I've only been using the ivermectin 2 times per week on average. Perhaps I need to use it more often to see good results.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Using it daily seems excessive. At the optimal dosage, a single application of ivermectin should kill every living mite in the skin. It should not be necessary to repeat the ivermectin until a new generation of mites have appeared. Once every 14 days should be frequent enough to break the life cycle of the demodex. Perhaps the dosage you are taking is insufficient or re-infection is taking place immediately from an external source (pillow?).

Bare in mind, demodex can live off the body on bedding/towels for at least 24 hours. If you heat your pillow in a tumble dryer on hot (over 55C) for 10 minutes, it will kill any mite on it.

Wisitar I am trying to use it as I used it on the trial which was daily. I am not using it in the strength that you are either. I have been wetting the cotton ball with water and then barely rewetting with the Ivermectin. I found that if I used it straight it stung and dried my skin out too much making it very flaky and taut.

kranekrane I really only get papules, some very big. My face used to be very painful and very itchy, that at least has subsided.

Have you considered low dose Accutane for those? I used to get large cysts and bumps but have had clear skin since beginning my therapy six months ago.

    Michael,

How is ivermectin treatment coming along? Is it helping you with the redness / flushing ?? Does ivermectin actually reduce flushing ??

    Thanks,
