    Default white pustules

Hi guys, i've surfed the net and come up with some different views..
here's the deal, i have white pustules (pus-filled bumps) on my cheeks and especially near my lip and chin area. Sometimes they appear in like 1 or 2s, but lately i've been having a group of 4-6 apearing close together near the corner of my lip.

is this acne, or rosacea?? i see some articles saying rosaceans have these pustules which others mistake as acne, but then again i've oily skin, so they can be acne rite? im kinda confused now.
And does anyone have remedies to clear these ugly looking pustules quickly? covering them up is tough cuz they are protruding and not flat.

    THNX!

    Hi Kobe,
I don't know whether they are acne or the pustules of rosacea but have you tried treating them with a topical that can take care of both such as Finacea?

    Best,
    Melissa

Hey i've tried using the normal benzoyl peroxide in the past, and it worked sometimes only..

but it does feel linked to rosacea more than acne, cuz they may suddenly appear over a flat surface instead of a red bump..

hmm im nt sure if my country has Finacea, but i'll go check it out. THNX Mel !! =)

I get those damn things too. Do you have dairy in your diet? When I have dairy, they are like 3 times worse. As far as I know, if they have a solid "root", they are acne, if they have only liquid, they are rosacea pustules.

    Hey grumpy,

i've long cut dairy out of my diet, only thing that remotely resembles dairy is soy milk (not even pure soy).. How do you tell if they have roots?

Soy milk is full of chemicals and soy itself is genetically modified so better skip it. Almond or cashew milk rocks.

"Roots": when you pop them, they have a tiny solid part.

are you referring to PURE almond milk? wow those sound pretty expensive though, my budget's limited, sighz..

Hmm my pustules are just milky white liquid i think, and sometimes they just go away without me realizing..

kobe_tan, it could be yeast. If you have oily skin as you say. Some get the red flaky skin, and some, including myself, get small white bumps that a typical family doctor would say is acne. It is yeast and may react well to antifungal meds or hydrokortisone. Personally I avoid kortisone because Rosacea is my main issue, and it only make it worse.
If you google seborrheic dermatits online, and look at photos showing it on peoples chest or back, you will see small white bumps that might look like acne. If it is what you have on your face, it most likely is seb derm.
