Any make-up or tinted sunscreen or whatever would wash off right? What do people with rosacea do when they want to go in the pool or in the ocean, or do they just not go in?

I go in the pool... my real concern is not washing out my blowdry. I've already sacrificed weekly blowdries and bouncy hair to rosacea and am forced to settle for the keratin treatment which does not give a desired level of bounciness. Am thinking of getting a red swimming cap so I look like a red beach ball bobbing up and down. I wear regular untinted sunscreen as tinted makes me look like Katie Price and it doesn't wash off. Store brand zinc cream. Thick and gloopy - you should give the tinted Invisible Zinc a go if you can get it. Will last through a swim as well.
But.... seriously, if the chlorine or salt water doesn't affect your skin there's no reason not to swim. It's great exercise for people who can't tolerate overheating and in the long run you'll be a lot worse off if you don't exercise. There are so many benefits of regular exercise and even one of the clueless derms said that I should keep up the exercise as it helped with circulation. Whether or not that's true is debatable but sounds good to me!
If you're looking to work out but not to get overheated and you aren't willing to go in the pool then try pilates.
On a related note chlorine is not good for my rosacea. Is this common?
Of course its common. Lots of people with no skin issues get red or irritated from extended time in the pool.
It acts up my rosacea if I get a lot of contact. I always take a quick lukewarm shower after to rinse off any chlorine residue from my face.
Sea water seems to have a opposite affect, it helps my skin.
Crap I need to find a salt-water pool![]()
