    Default Eye Styes

When I was a kid I used to get styes, I dont know if styes are the firts signs of rosacea.

did any of you also suffer from styes?

Looking back, I think that was my very first sign I had rosacea long before I was diagnosed. My eyes were getting really dry and itchy and I got a stye this time last year. It just popped up out of nowhere and I saw an eye doctor that same day.

Now my eyes are better, still sting on occasion ( I use Soothe eye drops and a foaming eye wash) I have not had any problems with styes as a child or since the one incident last year.

    Default Yup

I'm mild with the Rosacea so far, but yeah, I've had a half dozen styes in the past three years preceding this year's onset of increased flushes & thread veins.

By the way, the Equate (non)brand of Artificial Tears gives me the clearest eyes I've had since I was a kid. If I hit them once a day with that stuff and drink a lot of water, I get downright bright-eyed.

Styes can be pretty common and not necessarily a sign of ocular rosacea but it can be. Best thing to do when you get one is warm compresses 15 min at least 4x a day to get it to open and drain. Also, cleanse your lashes/lid margins before bed as a preventative measure against getting them.

btw I moved this thread to the ocular rosacea section.

    Best,
    Melissa

    You're welcome RedFaceKid.
I use Ocusoft too. It's great for removing my eye makeup
