Cyst removal but not healing?

Hi,

I had a lid cyst removed from my lower right eye about 2 months ago and since then a hard lump has formed in its place(pea sized). Its the second one i have had removed and the first healed no problems you wouldnt even notice...i got this one checked out about 2 weeks ago and the doctor took a good look at it and just sais it was healing and that it would go away but im still concerner about it,its not reducing in size at all and is now a solid lump and clearly visible,its as if the cyst is still there...Has anyone else experienced this after having one removed?

Hi swindon-

I'm sorry you're having such problems. I've had concerns of developing the same issues you're experiencing from cysts that need to be removed.

I've always considered styes and chalazions to be analogous to the P&P's of facial rosacea. However, I would purport that ppl can also get P&P manifestations around ocular Rosacea effected tissue. My ophthalmologist could not identify my cysts as anything other than inflammatory.

Wish I could advise you on what to do, but I'm afraid my ideas are only experimental and I wouldn't recommend them until I try them out myself.

If it doesn't go away you could ask your doctor for an intralesional steroid injection as that may help decrease it and even entirely eliminate it.
