Default how long does it take for food triggers to cause an outbreak?

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and was recently diagnosed with rosacea. At first, I was happy that someone finally figured out what was wrong with my skin, but when I found out that there was no cure for it and the wide variety of things that may trigger rosacea...suffice to say I'm not a happy camper. Anyway, I suffer from p&ps and I flush (face turns hot but no redness - is that normal?!). I'm abstaining from all possible triggers for now which means there's not too much I can eat, unfortunately.

My question is, how long does it take for a food trigger to cause an outbreak? I'm thinking back to the last outbreak I had and I can't figure out what exactly caused the outbreak because I'm not sure whether something I ate in the morning can cause an outbreak 8 hours later. Do the p&ps usually appear much sooner than that? What about exercise? It definitely causes me to flush immediately but do p&ps come within the next hour or two, or could that reaction be much more delayed?

Thanks, hope to hear from everyone!

    Default hi

I have had rosacea since i was 17 and i'm now 28. I have it mainly around the sides of my nose and not far out on the cheeks like some people so i dont know which sub type this is but after years and years of elimanating foods etc i have found that if i eat a bad food i can feel itching or stinging within hours (even minutes with some things) but until i can see it in my skin is usually by the next morning (although my face may look a bit more flushed the night before). I have noticed it is about three days before the pimple/tiny spot type things reach the worst point, possibly the fourth day. Then the skin slowly smoothes back out and goes down over about the next week with slight improvement being seen every morning. However with alcohol this seems to be speeded up a bit maybe because its liquid.
