Hi Cush,
Allibear and Ally24 are from Ireland.
They don't post much these days, but they are still around.
There is a doctor with a particular interest in Rosacea at a university in Dublin, but that is all I know.
Hopefully the others will chime in with info.
Previous Numerous IPL, Sulfacetamide 10%/Sulphur 3%.
Supplements: Discontinued High dose Vitamin D3, L-Glutamine (sometimes), Ascorbic Acid, Multi Vitamins, Tumeric, BHCL, Digestive Enzymes,
Skin Care: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser.
Started CAP (combined antibiotic protocol for Cpn) on 9 Nov 2010.
Discontinued due to rare and nasty reaction to metronizadole.
Treating for gut infections under specialist care.
Thanks Mistica, Maybe they are cured and are off having fun in the sun
Well I wish I was cured of many things LOL, but the face isn't doing too bad these days, well except for all my spidery viens, and I have even been having an occasional glass of wine as of the last few weeks, as I start to get back into the land of the living again after being horribly ill, and I was expecting either a face like a smacked tomato or having my head stuck down the toilet the next day, or both.
Allibear from Belfast N.I. here, enjoying a bit of a remission period at the moment cush1 but as you have probably read in many posts on the forum that is not the same as a cure which many of us are in agreement, that doesn't exist, but getting remissions is good.
Sorry I can't help with derms etc. I was never sent to one. I got diagnosed by my GP a few years back when I fell through the doctor's door in a bundle of tears because of the state of my face. I was given Erythromycin for 3 months, followed by metrogel but my skin didn't like the metrogel. I have had a few flare ups since but they have been much milder in comparison so I just hold out until the odd papule that comes from time to time goes away and don't bother running to the doctors or anything.
Diet changes worked best for me regarding my Rosacea but brought on a load of other problems for me so to be honest these days I don't give what I eat or drink much regard in terms of how it will effect my skin, if it fares, it flares. I am just glad that I am at the point that I can eat, and enjoy eating again, because I had a horrible few months there of all my food shooting straight through, tearing me inside out in the process, after having my gallbladder out and became very sick. I have learnt that there are a lot more things to cry about other than my skin.
Good luck with your journey on gaining a remission period.

Hey Allibear ,
Sorry to hear of your health probs,
I am glad you are on the mend, Thanks form your comments
I'm going to ge see my doc during the week - and was just trying to figure out what help to ask for, as I don't think skin conditions would be her field

I found that cutting out certain foods is paramount to success. Fods to avoid: spicy, dairy, sugar, chocolate, alcohol
canned fish, salt are a few I can think of now. Drink lots of water between meals, water is so important to keep redness at bay. Once you get into the habit of drinking water all the time it becomes second nature. No sunlight whatsoever and avoid central heating if possible. Never use a wet razor on ones face, use a good quality electric razor. This has helped me and I hope it helps others as well

Hi Cush, nice to meet you. I am in Belfast. I get treated at Woodford Medical in belfast on and off by Dr Mervyn Patterson. I have seen very good results.
