Lightbulb "Food Matters" - the movie

Hello everybody. Have you seen this movie? What do you think? I loved it.

It's about the idea that nutrition is behind all diseases. You'll notice that many things that they discuss there apply to rosacea as well. Drinking lots of water, eating fresh fruits and veggies, etc - they sound so familiar. ALSO it's about high doses of vitamins (see the Vitamin D3 thread). They also say that docs don't care too much about nutrition even if it is an extremely important aspect of all diseases... and oh yes, they are so right here, at least when I think about my docs.

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves but they can do that only based on a good nutrition and since most of what we eat nowadays is junk, you get the picture.

    Hello Grumpy,

Totally agree! I also think that many diseases we get are based on our ability (or not)

    to deal with stress!

My hyperthryroidsim (although genetically pre-disposed to it) was a direct result of a very

high level of stress, I also believe that rosacea was the same.

The movie is very inspiring and the fact that these guys don't try to sell you anything makes it more powerful.

I'm sorry but I just don't agree with this at all. Many people eat healthily and exercise and still develop diseases, many of which are merely genetic which is what rosacea is thought to be. Most medical doctors aren't even trained in the field of nutrition and that's what nutritionists and dietitians are for.

    Hello MissD,

I do think that eating a healthy diet, does give your body more of a fighting chance to

    heal though.

    Just my opinion.

Totally right. Eating junk food while fighting cancer/anemia/rosacea/eczema/influenza certainly won't do you any favors, but neither will just eating healthily and avoiding the doctor if you really need to go.

Judworth, my thyro is under control but don't know if in remission since I didn't stop meds completely. However, my rosacea is much-much better after I did the following:
    - fixed my thyroid
    - 100% dairy free diet
    - Vit. D3 supplements
    - avoiding constipation and having a healthy diet

Dunno which of these worked but my pustules count is 80-90% better and I feel almost "cured". I can go outside without using makeup.

MissD, the movie isn't about avoiding the doctor. It's about the crap we put in our bodies thinking we do the right thing. I don't know about the genetic component, but in my family tree I didn't find a single case of rosacea or thyroid problems.
