For years I've been trying to find an alternative ice cream to eat during my bad evening flushes. I've been looking for one that is dairy, sugar, gluten and artificial anything-free. There are a few in the US but none over here in the UK.
I've recently been making it myself with plain soya yoghurt, but its basically frozen ice and I've read that lots of soya (I also have soya milk in the mornings) is not good for you.
So my latest experiment is with coconut milk, the thick variety. I seems to work quite well and is a much better texture - less like a block of ice. Also as I don't have any added sugar in my diet its sweet enough already. The only snag is it's very high in fat/calories and very inflamatory. I'm worried that this might flare up my rosacea and seb derm.
As ever the internet is full on contradictory information. Some sources say the inflammatory properties help boost the immune system:
Has anyone ever tried eating coconut milk or oil? If so, did you notice any change in your rosacea for better or worse?
