    Arlene,
I saw that Dr Soldo responded to your question.
I wonder why Dr Soldo does not care to use the Yag on the face.

Anyway, I hope that you have a good outcome from today's BBL treatment.
Sending out my healing vibes to you!

Melissa, I think it's because the YAG can occasionally leave 'ice pick' scars on the face.

If your main problem is flushing, you might want to consider Clonidine and/or Remeron. They both helped me considerably.

    Thanks WC.

I would guess that would not be a common side effect in the hands of an experienced practicioner though so I wonder if that is the main reason Dr Soldo doesn't like to do it for the face. I know Dr Crouch has very good results regarding flushing using the Yag 1064.

    Default yag

Know that Dr. Johnson does not use it because he was scarred by it. My doctor suggested that I post the problem I was having on the medspa physician board. The doctor from Greece suggested that I discontinue taking Aleve and Tylenol pm that I have been using. She felt that this is a very rare reaction- I do know that a lot of Darm's patients got it too. He also suggested that if I have this problem I should do BBL one day Yag the next. Thats two trips two hours each way.But I guess you have to do what you have to do.
By the way he felt that the medications react negatively with the BBL and not the yag

    Default flushing

Forgot to add that yesterday after the BBL treatments I did not get the 7pm flare. Will say one thing. This machine clears up redness really fast. Flushing not so much

    That is great news Arlene!!

So the BBL really helps your redness but the Yag is better for your flushing. Is that right?

    Default yag

Actually the current thinking is that each makes the other more effective and should be used in combination. But I think thats because the yag can get to the really deep vessels. But if not used correctly it can scar or dent therefore a lot of doctors don't like it.

But if used correctly I would think the risk of side effects like that should be low risk. It seems many people here have had successful treatments re the YAG 1064 for their flushing and burning
I wonder what the safety profile of the yag is. That is, if used correctly and by an experienced practicioner what is the risk of those side effects?

So do you think you will be rotating the treatments? Yag one day and BBL the next?

    Default Yag

My doctor e-mailed me after I told him what the other doctor suggested. He is more than willing to do them on separate days. He has about 14 different machines in his office including one that could do a pass in the 800 range.
He suggested that we try a test patch with that.
I really feel that for some reason my face just does not tolerate the 1064. Although I did have ten of them with a tech who was very experienced. The result each time was that my flushing stopped for exactly one day and thats it. The physician from Greece said that none of her patients reported this reaction yet this is the second time it has happened to me. So it seems to be very rare.
Melissa I really feel that yag alone might not be the answer. From my research it seems that veins closer to the surface could be as much of a problem as the deeper veins when it come to flushing. But I do not have MD after my name and some people (who I hate) get remission with just a few IPLs or a few yags.
    Unfortunately I am very resistant
